LBF Series Balanced Flued Water Heaters

The Lochinvar LBF Water Heater range comprises 11 models offering all the benefits of traditional Knight and Charger units but with the added advantage of balanced flue. These water heaters are highly efficient (over 90% net) with storage capacities from 75 to 400 litres and recovery rates from 87 to almost 2000 litres/hour based on a temperature rise of 44°C.

Automatic ignition is standard and high levels of insulation minimise standing heat loss whilst baffled flueways maximise heat transfer. Storage tanks are glass lined to extend operating life.

LBF Water Heaters lend themselves to the principles of 'System Separation' and provide a reliable supply of hot water with economy and efficiency in mind.

Room-Sealed Balanced Flue Assembly

Air for combustion is drawn directly from the outside and this ensures safe and reliable operation as well as significant installation cost savings when compared with conventionally flued units. They are particularly suitable for use in areas of negative pressure caused, for example, by extractor fans in kitchens where they eliminate potential spillage problems.

All models come complete with a standard 1 metre balanced flue kit which includes the terminal. Concentric balanced flue assemblies of up to 7 metres are available. 45° and 90° bends are also available and a reduction of 0.5 metres should be allowed for each 90° bend used.

The fan assisted assembly at the top of the unit can be positioned through 360° giving further flexibility in design and installation (models LBF80 to LBF400).

Enamel-lined Storage Tank

The Storage tank is made from A1 category welded steel and is internally lined with a vitreous enamel coating protecting the tank from corrosive elements and ensuring that the water remains contaminant-free. Cathodic protection is provided by Sacrificial Magnesium Anodes or by the optional Correx Electrical Anode Protection System.

Maximum Heat Transfer - Minimal Standing Losses

LBF Water Heaters have multiple flueways running through the centre of the Water Heater. A Stainless Steel baffle is suspended in each flueway maximising the heat transfer and assisting the fast recovery of hot water. CFC-free foam insulation ensures that standing losses are minimal and the units are finished in an attractive grey enamel material.

Other Features include:

  • Automatic Ignition as standard
